Samui Festival Free Beach Buffet (Gin-Hor)

“Gin-Hor” is a Southern tradition when villagers bring home made food to share, a concept similar to Western picnics. Hosted once a year by Koh Samui District office during Samui Festival, this fun-filled free feast symbolized the islanders’ give back gesture to all tourists is scheduled to take place on Chaweng beach and Hua Thanon on September 18 at 5 p.m. Thousands of dishes will be served free to visitors by Hotels, restaurants with high-light on 5000 tiffin carriers filled with local food made by Samui residence. On 2017 Samui Free Beach Buffet broke Guinness World records as longest buffet with 5,829 different dishes and remains unchallenged until today.
